The King's Camp wishes to express our deepest sympathy to the family of Mary M. Doty, who went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. We will ALL deeply miss Mary and her faithfulness to The King's Camp.

HOMEGOING OF THE KING'S CAMP STAFF MEMBER, MARY DOTY.

Mary was born April 16, 1940, in Saltville, Va., the daughter of Vint and Mabel (Frye) Chapman. She married Vernon Johnson on Sept. 29, 1956. She later married John Doty on Nov. 2, 1984. He died Oct. 5, 1994. Mary was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, and at the time of her death, was serving on the church council and Sterling Christian School board. She enjoyed spending summers at King's Camp and taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Patty (Mark) Arians and Rhonda Johnson, both of Sterling, Raymond (Teri) Johnson of Federal Way, Wash., Ronnie (Donna) Johnson of Clinton, Iowa, Reva Lund of Oregon, Doris (Emmett) Shoemaker of Springfield, Mo., Charlie Johnson of Rock Falls and Adrienne Doty and Raymond Doty, both at home; two brothers, Herman (Virginia) Chapman of Colorado and Frank (Joyce) Chapman of Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Alan Arians, Chad Arians, Ryan Arians, Andy Johnson, Eric Johnson, Alyssa Johnson, Valerie Bertolozzi, Erin Daub, Joshua Alber, Christopher Alber and Kelsey Shoemaker; and four great-grandchildren, Jesse Arians, Kailynn Roberts, Taylor Novak and Luke Ademoski.

She also was preceded in death by her former husband, Vernon; and a sister, Bonnie Cook.

The funeral is at 10 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rock Falls, with the Rev. Henrietta Milner officiating. Burial is at Coloma Township Cemetery, Rock Falls. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
