The heavans declare the Glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Psalm 19:1

A Wet and Rainy Labor Day Weekend

A Wet and Rainy Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend, we had the pleasure of celebrating Labor Day. Labor Day is probably one of the biggest weekends of our camping season, and this particular Labor Day Weekend was wet, rainy, and full of fun.

It isn't often that we see it rain every day for more than 5 days straight, but here at the King's Camp, we saw quite a bit of rain. It rained on and off Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and still continuing today, Thursday after Labor day. Thats a lot of rain! Despite all this rain, we had a good crowd come and camp with us, and plenty of people braving the weather in tents!

Labor Day Weekend is also a time when we have a few fundraisers for the camp. The Brat and Corn Boil Lunch, The Annual King's Camp Auction, Root Beer Floats, and The All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast were well attended. We are thankful to all who came to the camp this past weekend and helped support us with our fundraisers. It helps us to remember that while it may rain consistantly and constantly, people can still enjoy themselves!

A special shout out goes to the people who made this weekend possible: My wife and Co-Director, Sarah Wojnarowski. Our Hosts, Bob and Colleen Johnson. Our Sound Man and Tech Support, Bruce Andresen. Our various volunteers, Bill and Connie Rodgers, Dave Rose, Harold and Renee Langland, Dave Gauger, Garry Adams, Mike and Becky Stombaugh, and Mary Bushland. There are others who also have lended their hands at various times, and I am thankful for them as well. Many hands make the work light, and it is because of the volunteers that we are able to put on so many events!

Alas, the rain we had was what the Lord gave us for the weekend, and we must praise Him continually. May the Lord continue to bless the King's Camp in all seasons with all kinds of weather.
